Her Lebanese-Mexican father was a rich businessman and her mother was an opera singer. At a very young age, Salma already knew she wanted to be an actress and, after finishing high school, she felt more than ready to pursue her ambition.

Salma Hayek has appeared in more than thirty films and performed as an actress outside of Hollywood in Mexico and Spain. Hayek’s charitable work includes increasing awareness on violence against women and discrimination against immigrants.

That same month, a poll found Hayek to be the “sexiest celebrity” out of a field of 3,000 celebrities (male and female); according to the poll, “65 percent of the U.S. population would use the term ’sexy’ to describe her”.

She remains one of the most hardworking actresses in Hollywood. New films include a high profile classic-style western comedy, ‘Banditas,’ co-starring pal Penélope Cruz, with whom she has been friends for years. They play two bank robbers becoming Mexico’s Thelma and Louise. Another of her new films is the highly anticipated ‘Ask The Dust’ directed by the brilliant Robert Towne.

Odalys Garcia started her career as a dancer at the illustrious Alicia Alonso School of Dance in Havana.
After arriving in the United States, began a successful modeling career before catching the eye of producers at the Univision network who casted her as a host of several programs.
Starting with “Noches de Gigantes” in 1991, and moving to “De Pelicula” (1991), Odalys gained widespread fame as the host of the Candid-Camera type show “Lente Loco”.

Currently the national spokeswoman for Bally’s Total Fitness Latin marketing campaign, Odalys resides in Miami and is the producer of her very popular and best-selling calendar.
Odalys García is also an executive producer and singer. Her calendars have sold well over the years, her 2001 version selling 200,000 copies, and she also produces a video to accompany her calendars.

Her singing career is taking off with the help of Selena Quintanilla’s father Abraham Quintanilla.
Odalys has been in heavy promotion of her first CD lately, and her concerts have included one in Monterrey where the audio equipment she was using broke and she had to cancel her concert.
